5 Things you need to know while traveling to Italy

Italy was one of the worst affected nations to face the wrath of the coronavirus pandemic. The government imposed a complete lockdown in the country on March 10, 2020 and since then for about two months, people were not allowed to move out of their homes unless they were making a trip to the grocery store or the medicine shop. But it has now eased the restrictions from the beginning of June, 2020 and has also started allowing tourists from limited nations. Here is what you need to know of you are planning to visit Italy anytime soon.

1. Who can visit Italy – Italian government has currently allowed people from the European Union, Schengen Area, United Kingdom, Monaco, Andorra, Vatican City and San Marino. People from the above countries do not need to be quarantined unless they have visited the countries outside of the approved countries list, two weeks before they enter Italy.

2. When can the people from US visit Italy –Nothing has been announced yet but people who need to travel for proven work, urgent health care or have to return to you place or residence can be allowed. They have self-isolate themselves for two weeks after arrival.

3. Health monitoring by Italian government – People who show symptoms like fever will have to stay at home and should also limit social contact after arrival. Even the airports are conducting temperature checks.

4. Where can the visitors visit in Italy – Puglia, Basilicata and Sardina will require the visitors to fill a form that will have all the details of their accommodation, contact and the visit length at least two days before arriving on a Schengen visa.

5. Will the travelers be insured upon visit –New infections in the country has remarkably reduced, but as the country is still recovering, many of the travel insurance plans will remain void if the US travelers enter the country with Level 4 Health Advisory in place. This surely increases the risk of travel.
