List of countries ready to open borders after travel ban

After nearly two years, it seems like the travel sector is marching steadily towards the pre-pandemic levels. It was during the pandemic peak that a number of countries imposed a travel ban and shut the borders to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infections. But now that the vaccines have been rolled out and the number of infections have gone down, many countries are making efforts to get back to work and promote travel. Here is a list of countries that are all set to reopen its borders after being closed for more than a year.

1. Fiji – The country is ready to reopen its borders for the countries on the green list after it remained closed for 21 months. The country has also reached to 80 percent vaccination rate. It will allow tourists in to the country without quarantine. Prime Minister Josaia Voreque Bainimarama in a statement said that it is ready to reopen as the families of a number of Fijians depend on tourism.

2. Chile – It is allowing foreign tourists from November 1, 2021. But only those who are fully vaccinated and have a negative PCR test result can enter Chile. The foreigners were allowed to visit since October 1, 2021 but have to undergo five-day quarantine.

3. UAE and Bahrain – Bahrain and UAE have been added to the safe list by the European Union. The European Union countries can now decide to implement their own travel restrictions if they seem is necessary.

4. India – From October 15, 2021 it will begin to reissue tourist visas for people who arrive through chartered flights. It was in March 2020 when the country imposed a travel ban on the foreigners who wished to travel to India for tourism purpose. The economy of the country was badly affected after as many as 4000 deaths per day was reported in early 2021. Now that the number of fresh infections has remarkably reduced, the country is ready to welcome tourists again.
