This hot water spring gets its name from the color effect it forms when sunlight falls on it giving it a bright blue formation thereby deflecting the yellow sulphur. It is located in the Norris Geyser basin in the Yellowstone National park and considered 27 feet deep where water temperatures rise till boiling point of 78 degree centigrade. The Emerald spring is known to be a relatively calm hot spring with occasional 3 feet height eruptions.
