Summertime is just around the corner, and if you’re looking for a well-earned vacation, look no further than the party capital of the world – the sunny Mediterranean island of Ibiza.
Located on the Eastern coast of Spain, the little isle (ten times the size of Manhattan), has notoriously been known for its extravagant living standards, pristine beaches and world-famous nightclubs dotting the capital city of Ibiza Town. Electronic Dance Music (EDM) was invented here, and many global DJs first made a name for themselves playing for party revelers. Celebrities and socialites looking to be part of the IT crowd frequent the island haunt and participate in some of the most epic all-night dance gatherings.
Though Ibiza is known mostly as the center of debauchery, it does have a lot of cultural history. Used centuries ago as a fort and port center to Europe, there are many monuments that stand testament to the past. Many settlers have made their home in Ibiza over generations, mostly from their fellow European countries, though more recently, there have been immigrants from other international locations as well. The main form of income for Ibiza is tourism, obviously. Commerce really isn’t a priority here, as those who call themselves residents here are mainly involved with catering to their tourist visitors or enjoying a grand retirement life.
