Dubrovnik
If you visit Croatia and do not visit this place, it is almost a sin. Built in the 7th century, this town in the Mediterranean has a cluster of houses – all with terracotta rooftops right on the tip of the Adriatic Sea beautifully contrasting the clear blue sky and the greenery around, Dubrovnik is an ancient treasure house to those quaint villages, white limestone or cobble-stoned streets, churches, palaces, beaches and islands. Also known as among the world’s most beautiful cities, Dubrovnik has huge walls and fortresses and is famously called ‘the Pearl of the Adriatic’.
The place can be adventurous and is a haven for those interested in historic ruins and exploring the raw beauty of nature. Whether you take a cable car to Mount Srd or visit the Old Town listed by UNESCO for its churches and marble streets, it is a marvel of a holiday destination. What more? Some of the scenes from the epic series, Game of Thrones have been shot in the walled city of Dubrovnik. Take a panoramic view of the city more by walking around the walls. The most famous King’s Landing, Qarth and Slaver’s Bay are all popular spots around the city. Need we say more?
