Mount Abu
While here, you can also visit the Mount Abu which is about a little more than 160 kilometre from Udaipur and is a sight to behold apart from being a hill station retreat for beating the summer days in the desert of Rajasthan. Its picture esque landscapes, a toad-shaped rock, scenic lakes and beautiful Peace Park, Swami Vivekananda Park, temples and monasteries are all a wondrous delight for the senses.
For the adrenaline junkie too, there are activities like cycling, hiking, trekking, a visit to the vintage classic cars museum, admiring the view of the city amid Aravali range while on the ropeway, mountain climbing and visiting solar observatories among others. Some tourist agencies also offer helicopter rides atop ancient forts, lakes and visit to the remains of old temples and havelis can also be adrenaline-pumping. For the family travelers, several wildlife sanctuaries, galleries, museums and gardens apart from mesmerizing views of the city offer a wholesome, enriching travel experience. In any case, a visit to the marvelous wonder that Udaipur is where several of its landmark places are UNESCO heritage sites is nothing short of a win-win situation for any traveler.
